I'm just curious what exactly makes a pup a bridge pup or a neck pup. Obviously output and voicing play a role. But what if for instance you have a high output bridge pup and you want a commonly used lower output pup for the neck like a jazz or an A2P. What makes a A2P n better than a A2P b when mixed with a higher output bridge pup. Also what are your opinions on pups that absolutely don't sound good in the neck, for example the JB is quot;preferred for bridge positionquot; but I know it can sound great in the neck.

For those who think that the 59 or custom are too fat
I must admit they are a bit fat in the low end .
Tested in a Roadstar RS530 with a very thick baswood body , blocked trem .

Anyone else hear any tonally similarities between the 81 and the JB?
I certainly do!
they both have great cut, harmonics and sing like a canary.

Pearly Gates neck vs. Alnico II Pro neck
Which neck pickups sound the best for you? I've owned a PG set in the past and thought that the neck PG was amazing. I just got an Alnico II neck and am liking that very much. Any one have any comments.

Is a Vox ad60 and 212 cab to loud?
Hello fellow toners. I am thinking about upgrading my ad50 combo to a ad60 head and 2 12 inch speaker cabinet, and i'm wondering if this combo would be to loud for bedroom use. The head has a power attenuator, so I'm good there, my only concern is the level required to drive two speakers versus just the one I currently have in my 50 combo. What do you all think? Would I be better with a single 12 inch cabinet?

WTB: Ibanez AM-50
I'm looking for an Ibanez AM-50AV. These semihollow axes were only made in '82-'84 and are hard to find. If anyone has one and is interested in selling, email me at joshhobbs@bellsouth.net.

Distortion channel isn't quot;heavyquot; enough or quot;metalquot; enough, what can i do?
hi, just wondering whether i can do something to a distortion channel on a solid state amp to make it heavier or have more gain etc. i was thinking maybe there are types of pedal that can add something to an already distorted channel. i have used distortion pedals through a clean channel before but i find i cannot get the same volume as the distortion channel used on its own.
