I was in a music store at lunchtime, picking up some stocking-stuffers. As I was checking out, a guy at the other end of the counter apparently asked about guitar amps. The salesman's immediate response (verbatim, or almost):

Well I think I might get one of these for Christmas since they're going to sell me one here in the local shop for $300.00 even.

I would like to put an APH Alnico II in the neck position of my guitar. I noticed that this pickup does not say quot;quot; like most of the other humbuckers. You have to understand that I am without a doubt a little obsessive compulsive...cause having a logo on the bridge pickup and not the neck pickup would bother me I know...call me crazy.Anyway, other than the '59 are there any other humbuckers which I can get without the logo? Cause I'd like to do a APH Alinco II neck, SH-5 bridge combo. Or can I get the APH with the logo?

i have a newer model MIM Fender Stratocaster for sale with many upgrades. to start off with it has a rosewood board and 3 tone sunburst finish that has been pre aged to resemble a well worn and played older strat. this was done professionally and includes nicks and scratches and also laquer checking. the pickups have been upgraded to SH-6 Calibrated Set and still includes the original boxes. the pick guard is a fender custom shop white perloid and the guitar does come with the original white pick guard with factory stickers. this guitar also includes a Fender Tweed Hardshellcase. the guitar has just been professionally set up and is ready to ship. everything bought new. over $1,100 invested. will sell for $375 or best offer or will entertain any intersting trades. thanks for looking

I just put new pickups and a new wiring harness in my Gretsch 6120. It was the first time I ever installed pickups in a hollow body. Having now completed the job, here's my advice: Unless you have an incredible amount of patience, NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER do this. It was just about the most tedious thing I've ever done. It involves lots of running string through F-holes and pot and jack holes, tying it around parts and gently pulling the part to the hole only to have the string fall off and have to start over. It took hours and hours (I also had to enlarge some component mounting holes). I look forward to the next time I install pickups on a solid body, it'll be like a vacation.

Got some new pics from Ken (kmcguitars), and it's really looking sharp. The neck is done, and the body is now getting the nitro finish. I believe there is only one coat of nitro in these pics, perhaps two. I think we're going to end up with 5-6 coats max. Enough to protect it and get a deep shine, but thin enough to really let the wood resonate. 3-4 more coats of nitro, a couple weeks to cure and then a wet sand an polish. Looks like it may be complete by the end of the month.

Has anyone tried this product? It's quite cheap for a boutique pedal but I haven't known anyone yet who has tried it.
