hi dudes

well, what can i say that isn´t already said with that pic? the guy from the store near my house came back from namm with the 2 neck thru quot;ibanezesquot; models from 2005, the one with the quilted maple...and this one...freakin amazing axe...the diference is that the quilted maple axe goes to 2500€ and the natural is under 1700€...so...i can´t spend so much money on a guitar...thats a fact i´ve realized recently...so i´ll go FINALLY for this axe...i tried it this week...unplugged sounds amazing, plays amazing (the neck is thicker than the wizard standard necks...its like 0.790 at first fret, 0.850 at 12th)...er... 25.5quot;, 24 jumbo frets, 5 piece maple/wenge (....wtf is wenge?), ash wing body, rosewood board, ibanez edge pro bridge (should change it with a schaller or an original floyd, later)

but plugged in...that dimarzio/ibz sounds very vintage like (medium output, very pafish...like a set of 59s...it´s only they doesn´t work for hard rock/metal imo), don´t understand why, this axe should go for real dimarzio pafs or tone zone/paf pro...but anyway i´ll put duncans on it...and i´ll go for high output duncans, thats for sure...so...i want that axe to be a shred machine and an all-around axe (for any kind of gig, cause it will be my principal work tool...i´m going pro dudes...yeah!!!!)

so...i was thinkin on a full shred neck/custom trembucker bridge set...what do you think guys? if you think another set will work better for that axe...tell me please...

thanks a lot

see ya

Hey man I don't know what to tell you about wenge, I've never played a guitar with wenge on/in it. However both ash, and maple are bright woods so unless you have a fairly dark amp I'd recommend you try some A2 pups. The full shred is an inherently bright pup so you may have an overwhelming top end with the FS. Maybe a Pearly Gates, and Custom Custom trembucker, I'd go for the Custom next. The Custom will have more high end than the Custom Custom, but it will also have more grind. If the rosewood board warms it up enough (accoustically) for your taste then you should go with your gut, or kick it up a notch and get the Distortion for the bridge.

Luke

I can say that those Edge trem's are about as good as an OFR, IMO.

yeah i know...i have to try the trem a lot of time....cause people use to flame it...instead, people say that the old lo pro edge had the quality of original floyd and schaller trems...Originally Posted by Luke DukeHey man I don't know what to tell you about wenge, I've never played a guitar with wenge on/in it. yeah...so i should go for a pearly gates, shouldn´t i?

well, i´ve searched for wenge specs and its very similar to bubinga...so we could say that wenge and rosewood makes the whole caracter to be well balanced...maybe a little brigh...

so...what do you think about a pearly gates/custom trembucker set? or, what about pearly gates/parallel axis distortion trembucker?

anyone?...........bump
