Does anybody sell a blank control plate for Telecasters? Just a metal tongue depressor, with screw holes. For those of use who don't want the traditional switch slot. Drill it for just pots, or a Gibson style toggle switch.

I bought some quot;Gerlitz Guitar Honeyquot; a week back and it arrived in the mail yesterday. Man is this stuff awesome. I cleaned my fretboard last night and applied it, and it looks brand new. Here is their site, with a better description of what it actually does:

Do todays solid color Fender Reissue bodies really have up to 7-piece bodies? And does that really affect the tone of that body in a major way?

I just purchased a rarely-used but poorly maintained early Japanese (1970s) Epiphone Riviera (a poor-man's 335). The pickups are installed reversed--the adjustable pole-piece screws are facing toward each other instead of pointing toward the bridge and neck, respectively. Furthermore, the pickup mounts appear to be reversed as well. The taller mounting frame was moved from the bridge position to the neck and visa versa. As a result, the neck PU is closer to the strings than original. Conversely, I suppose the bridge PU may be further from the strings than originally. With my Strat, if you run the pickups too high, the magnetic field interferes with the string vibration, stifling sustain and making it almost impossible to tune. The Epiphone's strings tune fine. Can you get too close with humbuckers?

ive always been obsessive about my action and im always tinkering with it trying to lower it just a bit more only then having to put it back up so it plays well.

Do pup covers effect the sound of a pickup?
