I seem to have solved one problem.
I had the pictures exactly the same size as the size of the cells they
occupied, locking them to the cell boundaries by resizing using the Alt key.
If the pictures are resized, so that there's some white space all around the
picture, the sorting works OK.
Don't ask me how or why this works, I don't have a clue! :-)

gt; Good morning, all - hope someone can help.
gt;
gt; I have a product database in B7:L46 with headers in row 6. Column B contains
gt; the Product ID and Column D contains a picture of each product. The pictures
gt; are formatted to quot;Move and Size with cellsquot;.
gt;
gt; When I click on B7 (the first field Header - Product ID) and do Data Sort,
gt; the sort highlight only goes as far as column I, even though the database
gt; follows the normal rule of no blank columns and field headers for each
gt; column, with the whole database bordered by empty rows and columns.
gt;
gt; THEN (as if it couldn't get any worse), if I do a GoTo or select the data
gt; manually, then sort, all columns are correctly included in the sort
gt; highlight, but when I sort on column B (Product ID), the pictures in column
gt; D stay where they are, instead of being sorted with their respective rows.
gt;
gt; I'm not sure if the two problems are related in any way, but I'd really
gt; appreciate some advice as to what's causing either, or preferably both of
gt; them.
gt;
gt; As always, thanks in advance for your interest and help
