As I'm sure many of you know, the HM strat has been my dream guitar for quite a long time.
Today at about 5:00pm My Dream Came True as I opened the box from forum member kjrocks containing this:I cannot say enough good things about this guitar, it plays great, feels great, sound amazing...
I'm sitting here playing it right now with my Smokey amp, and it sounds better than that little amp has ever sounded.
I just wanted to share with everyone my new wonderful guitar and the fact that I now have the guitar I have been lusting over for the past 2 years.
Coupled with my Mesa/Boogie DC-10, I now have (according to me) the ULTIMATE heavy metal set-up!
Rock On!!!!!

Oooh, that is one killer lookin' axe! Ain't those Kahler Spyder Trems something?! I think they are my favorite double-locking trem. DiMarzio SD too! How you liking that pup? It seems to be the only DiMarzio pup that not every SD purist hates, haha.
By the way, would you like me to make you a cool avatar sometime? Your current one looks like it was done in MS Paint!

In 1988, I worked at Guitar Center, Lawndale Ca. I remember when we put those out on the floor. Fender made them in white, black, turquoise, hot pink, and maybe a couple other colors. The black and white ones sold out fast, then Fender was stuck with a boatload of turquoise and pink. Guitar Center busted out one of those quot;Stratathon Weekendsquot; and covered the whole showroom floor covered with the turquoise and pink.
Strats.
Just a random memory I had, I thought I'd share with you. hahaha

If I had a time machine I would go back to '88 and hang with you at the big strat sale surrounded by my favorite guitars.
Thanks for the kool memory!

I would kill for an all original HM Strat.
By kill I mean..squish a bug...a really bad, evil, infectious bug.
And that is a really cool story, Gearjonser. Short, sweet and right to the big-haired point.

uve gotta get some awsome CHORDS MAN! haha joking
wow, thats pretty darn cool! congrats.
around late '89/ early '90, I started playing electric after a long time of playing only acoustic
I got a bonus at my job, went to GC, and bought an HM strat, SSH in pink - on sale. It was the best deal on a strat I found.
it was a great little ax to get back into playing with. I eventually sold it to a friend, though. I've heard they're worth decent money now, but the bottom line is they're good players.
enjoy
Man, everybody just has awesome stories about the HM strat
Curly, I hope to eventually get mine re-finished with a nice new pink paint job, I'll send ya some pics when it's done so it can bring back some more memories for ya!
Definetly a good player! I'm happy that I have finally returned to the floating trem/locking nut world.
Rock On!
