Has anybody tried or heard of taking 2 P90s and wiring them together out of phase (ala a HB)? Obviously it will probably need some body work to accomodate 2 P90s in one pup cavity, so I am thinking of doing this in a clone - either LP or SG type body.

Hi...someone posted this over in the gear forum awhile back, and thought I'd post it again.

Can a vocal mike be run through a s.s. guitar amp?
I don't know jack about mic's and my son wants to know if a vocal mike will work through a 15 watt solid state guitar amp for garage band use.

Pickups for a Les Paul
I aint realy a lp kind of player but ive recently got a hudge GAS build up for one for some reason after trying and mesing arround with tons of them i stunbled on a awsome piece of guitar! It sounded great and much better compared to the others for some reason tho the pups are burstbuckers (most of lp where, exept for the studios) and im not to fond of them, im sure a touch of sd could fix that.. so im just wondering but what pickups would give a good vintage quot;Pagequot; type sound to a les paul?

both series amp; parallel pup vol control
Ok, don't laugh at me now, I know pretty much nothing about electronics, but I was thinking about a way to mix the middle pup of my strat with the bridge amp; neck - not unlike the S-tastic mod.

Vibe-chorus-tremolo
YO DUDES,
Okay, i'm going to show (more) ignorance here and ask for a specific description of the difference between chorus, tremolo and the effect commonly reffered to as quot;vibequot;. One might assume it to be short for vibrato, and while I would describe it as sounding 'like' vibrato, I am reffering to the effect inspired by the univibe, so-thus the name.

Alnico 8 Results...are IN...
I now know that I can really trust Wicked Lester's ear. His description of the Alnico 8 tone is eerily dead-on. It's the wonder magnet, combining all the best qualities of Alnico 2, 5, and ceramic with none of the drawbacks:

I give up on gain pedals.....(mini-rant)
I give up on gain pedals. Boosters, overdrives, distortions....everytime I try one I really like it at first, then I figure out how to make my amp sound more or less the same without it. After awhile I find I start to prefer the amps natural version of that tone to the pedal amp version, and it eventually degrades to the point where I really can't stand hearing the pedal anymore. I can still apreciate how quot;goodquot; it sounds, but my ears just don't like listening to it.

Line 6 Spider II 212 gt; Marshall AVT150
I got a line 6 spider II 212 with the line 6 shortboard for the same price as the AVT150 on special. It totalled $1500 AUD all up with a pair of schaller strap locks, im not sure how much that is in USD, but im assuming i got a good price considering the short board alone retailed at $700 AUD. The spider II 212 was much more articulate for legato and speed playing and seemed smoother than the 'valve' pre-amp in the marshall. I was sold almost immediately, the range of tones is extremely impressive.
