OK, I know it will never be the same, but here's the story.

As the topic title says, whats your favourite brand of acoustic guitar strings?

I had a Series 2 Rect-o-Verb at one point, but I can't remember the difference between a series 1 and two. Do yall know?

I've always wanted to learn how to play slide guitar, kind of like how Duane Allman and Gary Rossington did, but I can never find anything on it. It doesn't matter about the tuning it's in, and I've already got my guitar set-up for slide, but it's trying to play it that's killing me. The only slide thing I know is the Freebird intro (though probably the most overrated slide part IMHO), and even then I don't know how Gary wrote it.

A store in Toronto has some weird Mexican strats that are not listed in Fenders catalogs.... They are Mexican Standard strats but rear routed with flame maple tops.... These are not the same flame maple strats from China that Fender has released over the last year... These are Mexican Made Flame maple cap bodies with black pickups, Mexican Standard bridges... strange beasts.... They sell for about $50 more than a Mexican Standard.....

I was wondering if any of you guys out there own one of the Marshall AVT Series? If you do please tell me how they are.

Anyone have this combo? Was thinking of loading my SG Standard with this. Also been hearing people hyping the set of '59's and was warned about the PG in the bridge as being to shrill. Oh, I'm trying to get a fat, creamy vintage tone, with some Reverend Gibbons BBQ on top.

Anybody have any experience with these?

If anyone is interested. The Genesis Mr. B pickup kicks major ass. It's very similar to the tone the Duncan EVH puts out. With a better price tag. I have it loaded into a alder strat with a maple neck. I play thru a plexi reissue into a 2x12 cab loaded with V-30's. I have added a bit of reverb thru the loop and and I drive the tubes with a fulltone ocd overdrive. The tone is dead on to the early VH stuff. Almost scary. When I color it with an mxr phaser that classic lead tone shines thru. Any questions on this setup feel free to contact.
