I picked up an Ibanez AR250 Artist that has the stock H1 and H2 pickups. They sound quot;okquot; to me, nothing to write home about. A common complaint amongst other owners is that the pickups are a bit wimpy. I plan to use the guitar for sweet, sustained solos and power chord type stuff as well as jazz. The stock pickups may be fine for all that, but I happen to have a set of Duncan Alnico II Pros laying around and I could easily swap them out if I thought it would make the guitar stronger for its intended purpose.

For years I have used my JB in the neck of my Kramer Pacer, and I absolutely loved the tone....no reason to change right? Well I just completed a trade w/ Nate, I traded him my TB5 for an EMG 85. This trade left my favourite axe (Kramer Stagemaster Custom) lacking a bridge p/u. I installed the JB in the bridge pos. of my stagey and holy sh!t!!, I thought that I loved the sound of a JB in the neck pos, but damn! It's been a long time since I've used a JB in the bridge pos of any guitar, now I'm thinking that I'll have to put the 85 in a different guitar when it arrives! Let me tell you, this guy has just fallen back in love w/ an old friend!!..........ok, back to the stagey I go.

I'm going to look at one of these today. I've seen some great reviews and some not so great reviews. Seems most of the bad reviews were from people using single coil pups and strats. People using humbuckers said this amp has killer gain and the cleans sound great with a decent cab.

Anybody have a spare set of black Schallers? Lemme know!

OK so if Duncan's spec says 9K and your pickup measures 8K, is that normal? Out of spec? How much effect would you expect on the sound? In this case a bridge pickup, where you would not want it too thin. Thanks!

I really wanted to get the Cool Rails but somebody offered me his old JB jr. for ~ $35 (coverted from Phil. currency) so I grabbed that one instead. I couldn't pass that one up.
