Expansive VS Compressed tones
I was fooling around with my bandmaster and found that i really like the middier more expansive tone of the mullard 12ax7-M reissues over NOS 5751. I guess the 5751 sounds more compressed and i lose some of the detail and woodiness of my strat. It sings when turned up though, i love it for leads.

Slipstone nut?
I got my USACG neck the other day, the nut is slipstone. I don't hear to much about it as a nut material. Anyone here use slipstone?

balanced, unbalanced cables, jacks, outputs
could some one tell me what balanced and unbalanced jacks are? i'm looking at getting a bbe sonic maximizer, but the lower end ones don't have balanced jacks? is this good or bad? is most rack equipment unbalanced? and can there be problems from mixing both kinds together? i'm completely lost, any help would be appreciated!

Vital Strat tremolo question, wilkinson and floyd content
Okay I know I've asked this before, but I want to be sure before I order a body from usa custom or warmoth. I have experience with floyds and know they are the only way to go for super smooth action and dive bombs and such, as well as staying in tune. I've never used a wilkinson though. How good are they? What kind of action do they have?

Is this possible?
I have a Bubinga bodied strat with a rosewood neck, routed for only a bridge humbucker. I have decided to try and make a 1 humbucker guitar for jazz, blues, fusion, and jam type music rather than just metal and rock as they are commonly used...
