Hey dudes, I just got my Reverend Slingshot Custom guitar. I'm so impressed. KILLER axe for the money. It has 3 P-90s. I'm pretty sure these are the perfect pickups for what I want this guitar to do. Tonally, they sit someplace between a glassy vintage fender single coil and a throat paf style humbucker. I've got my amp set up so that by the way I attack the strings and manipulate the volume knob, I can push the guitar either way. This is so badass. I highly recommend Reverend, but it takes them a long time to build stuff, so be prepared to wait. Mmmm... pics and clips are coming.

PUPS for a Univox LP copy
Any suggestions? This axe belongs to a teenager (read: POOR) at church. He plays it sometimes, but usually he ends up borrowing someone else's guitar for church. I think with a new set of pups and some tuners, this could be a decent axe.

do jbs suck in alder bodies, or am i just crazy?
I was reading the other day how Jerry Cantrell's Rampage is actually an alder body - and of course, Billie Joe Armstrong's strat clone was an alder body. And I read somewhere that the tele-gib was actually an ash body, and not a mahogany body. Yet the last time I stuck a JB into my strat it kind of sucked - it had no bottom end. In my mahogany Esquire GT the thing rocks! What's the deal? How can all these famous guys be wrong? Is it just me?

Toploader Tele: any info
A friend of mine just got a guitar built for him, with parts. Squier Affinity neck and I haven't formally identified the body yet, but it does appear to be genuine Fender toploading. It apparently used to be on one of Billy Corgan's guitar that he smashed onstage. There are no string through holes and there doesn't seem to be dowels. There is some problem with the bridge: being a toploader, shouldn't it have 3 vintage saddles? This one has 6 individual ones (old school) and the strings rub on the springs, and they aren't aligned with the pickup polepieces. I'm setting it up for him. I'll first try replacing the saddles but obviously the holes are not going to be proper so I may have to replace the whole bridge and I haven't found anywhere that sells toploading units.
I haven't had a long enough look at it yet, though I already saw that the nut is filed way too high and the neck has too much relief. It plays pretty bad too.

WTB:Aged Antiquity Cover
I recently aquired an middle Texas Hot Antiquity from eBay, but it has no cover. I was wondering if anyone out there would be willing to sell theirs or would know where I could find some.
