Hey dudes, I just got my Reverend Slingshot Custom guitar. I'm so impressed. KILLER axe for the money. It has 3 P-90s. I'm pretty sure these are the perfect pickups for what I want this guitar to do. Tonally, they sit someplace between a glassy vintage fender single coil and a throat paf style humbucker. I've got my amp set up so that by the way I attack the strings and manipulate the volume knob, I can push the guitar either way. This is so badass. I highly recommend Reverend, but it takes them a long time to build stuff, so be prepared to wait. Mmmm... pics and clips are coming.

post some pics!

Excellent!

How does it sound with some gain?

And did you get the Bigsby?

I had one that I liked, but the metal top kept cutting my arm. Like a papercut on my right forearm underside. That slightly adjustable arm guard wouldn't move to where my largeness interacted with that edge.

Otherwise, they're awesome.

I think the Reverand factory isnt to far from where I live. Same with The Heritage factory.

Under gain, it sounds AMAZING. THe neck pickup is voiced VERY SRV, and the middle positions can nail pushed Tele countryish sounds. The bridge pickup is pure THe Who live at Leeds tone, and handles heavy gain really well. It loses it's glass and gets so raw and in your face, yet very musical.

you're making me want one...gah

but whats the deal on the body construction. Supposedly they're supposed to come real close to nailing hollowbody tones

Meh, I dunno. There's a 6 inch wide mahogany block that basically serves as the body, and there a couple inches of hollowness around the edges. I think it adds a bit of airiness to the tone, and definitely makes the guitar feel more lively and resonant, but I don't think you really get that much hollowbody tone, but I'm using P-90s for the first time. Maybe if this guitar had humbuckers i'd be able to compare it a bit easier. I was actually getting really pissed at Reverend for making me wait so long, but this guitar was worth it. It came out of the damn case perfectly in tune!

I've been taken over by JCF...quot;If you say you have it, pics are MANDATORY!quot;

LOL...yeah...you can't tease like this...we need pics soon!!!

haha this evening hopefully.

Now!!!

Let there be clips!

has 1 clip of the reverend and 2 clips of the SG that i'm working on. It has a dimarzio norton pickup in the bridge right now. that is soon to be switched out for a '59. Unfortunately, no pics yet, but the reverend website has plenty of those.
