I'd never be able to justify the price of an original 57-60 Les Paul, so this may be the next best thing. It would still be old wood, and I'm gassing for something P-90ish.

That price sounds pretty reasonable to me.... Aren't '59 LPs running six figures these days?

Yeah...I don't think you can pick one up for much less than $200k, unless it's in really poor shape, or a re-fin. Although, it seems that a while back on the forum someone posted a listing for a 58' refin at like $180k.

a friend of mine is actually selling a real '59. its a beaut!! anybody got $200k??

a friend of mine has a '60 jr thats almost identical to the one in that auction. i just played it last sunday and its great!! the p90 is amazing, nice and bright with the tone up and smoothes out nicely when ya roll it down. nice long sustain and a feel like only a 40 year old guitar can have

As long as that single P-90 is versatile then go for it; it's definitely cheaper than buying a real vintage LP, hands down.

well, it does have the right amount of pickups for me lol.

BUY IT!!! Then you won't be gassing for it.

Jeff, you can still get one of these without bust'in the bank. I still have
the original Pickguard and PuP. As you can see Just cut out a new pickguard
and P-90's or mini's will fit without cutting up the body. Nothing sounds
as sweet as a P-90 in a 38 year old slab-o-Mahagony.

C'mon Now.. A 67' Melodymaker has much more MOJO!! Than my Epi V.
Believe or Not, For about the same cost as a Epi V new. You can get a
American made Vintage Gibson. Now how cool is that ?

68' melodymaker on ebay

Wow.... Makes me wish I was rich enough that I could afford to use 50 and 100 dollar bills as toilet paper and still never run out of cash..... If only that were the case.... @#$% Why couldn't it be FreEbay?
