I just got my amp back after someone droppedit, I had to get it fixed.
Well I gotit back and it sounds different than it did before it was dropped. It actuallly sounds amazing to me for what it sounds like now.
Before it sounded really good, but it had more gain, or a differnt kind of distorted sound, where Chords an such sounded great, but the leads were kind of singing, with some sustain.
Now the freaking chords sound just AMAZING, my ampnails the VH II tone with NO problem and it sounds great playing rytym, but the leads seem to not have that singing sustain type sound to them.
I just wondered if for instance EVH used something differnt on his leads as opposed to just using the main amp sound.
I mean you never hear of him using a tubescreamer or anything like that, but with my amp sounding like it does for the rytym, does it make sense that the leads arent going to be wher I want them, or SHould it have both? Thanks for any help and info! Rick

Anyone ????

What amp is it??? 5150?

Na it's a DSL 50.

well then........If you like the tone you get now then don't do anything about it. If you don't like it (and the tubes were changed) then it might be the brand/model or tube(if the same tubes are in it) then i have no other ideas at the moment.

umm..van halen used a LOT of stuff to get his tone...here, this should help you out
