im looking for the best possible emulation of really heavy distortion sounds only to use with my peavey classic 50 4x10 combo amp live and for recording.
came down to the vox tone lab and the podxt.

Well, I finally got around to putting a clip up. This one was done on my Peavey Predator. The rhythm track was with the Cool Rails in the neck. The lead track was with the Custom Custom in the bridge split run with the Hot Rails in the middle. The guitar was played through my VAMP set on American Blues with a touch of gain (a little more for the lead) and just a bit of delay. The VAMP was plugged directly into the computer (Sorry, I don't have a mic). I just laid down an incredibly simple rhythm track and ad-libbed the lead, so it's not the greatest clip in the world. I need to stay off this forum a little more and do more practicing.

Does offer a pickup, off the shelf or custom, that combines the heat and the harmonics of the Duncan Distortion with the fluidity of the Alnico II Pro? I have tried the JB and like it a lot but the tone curve is a little bit too dramatic and I wanted more output, which is why I went to the Distortion for my Carvin CT6. I am just curious if SD offers anything like the distortion that has some of the sweetness and the fluid “no-attack” sound of the Alnico II Pro?

What is your favorite bridge humbucker for a strat you own or have heard? And what genre(s) of music do u play?

This is a question for strat players who've used the SD pickup booster. How well does the resonant switch emulate the humbucking sound?Thanks,

I'm gonna be swappin out some pu's in my EBMM here pretty soon, replace the jb with a JB trembucker, and the stock two dimarzios with duncans. I already have the duckbucker, and was planning on getting a little 59 neck, but I've got a hot rails neck on hand and REALLY don't have the money to buy a lil 59 right now. So...is this a good combo? Just wondering if its worth my time to experement.

i might have a lead on one of the amps i've mentioned on here the past few days...it has something quot;wrongquot; with it, but i can get it for an insane price and maybe.......just maybe a sort of trade......?!?!?!

Please do not laugh at me, i already know i suck but i´ll try to get better at it.Its a really short file so it will download pretty fast...

Maybe it's a stupid question, but..with aging a pickup's magnet gets weaker I believe? What does that do to the (original) sound?

Does anyone know what effect Eric Johnson uses on High Landrons? Is it something a pedal can do live? - Willy
