Just a few Amp Porn pics...
We've been producing this young RnR band and have been setting up amps up the wazoo all week. I had my Digi camera with last night and took a couple of the amp wall from the other nights session. Just thought I'd share some pics.

I want to ride my... 60 cycle
Well, I tried the series/parallel mod using a push/pull pot with a Hot Rail-- not a bad sound, but now I have hum-- the other humbuckers in the guitar are fine just running off the pot (no mods). Any ideas where I went wrong....?

Gamp;L Dual Fulcrum Vibrato............
Do these stay in tune pretty well? I'm looking for a used tremolo equipped HB bridge guitar and I'm considering the Gamp;L Legacy Deluxe and the USA Wolfgang Special.

weird
I don't know if this is the right room to post this but recently there is something strange going on with my amp:
everytime I hit the C note (when distorted and palm muted) my amp sound like cr*p.

I've never gigged with any of these and decided with my new amp that I just don't use these pedals. make me an offer and e-mail me

Blues Trembucker
So I got a Blues Trembucker in today. I yanked a TB6 Distortion out of the bridge of my Hamer USA Californian and dropped the Blues in. Hot damn, this is one sweet pickup. I'll tell you what, I really didn't know what to expect. But the Blues is very articulate, with great harmonics and nice tonal characteristics. It's not as low-middy as the Distortion, and not as compressed. This is one of the few pickups that sounded good with both rhythms and leads. And it handles heavy gain and cleans very well. I'll give it some more time, but I might have to get a few more of these for other guitars.

Strat pickups in Gibson guitars
Anyone have any experience with this? I'm putting together a project Melody Maker SG (mahogany). It has single coil routing so I'm going for a strat replacement pickup but due to the difference in string spacing between Gibson and Strat bridges I need a rail pickup to avoid drop out during string bends. Anyone have any experience using the Hot, Cool, or Vintage rails in Gibsons or any other Mahogany guitars? I'm also really curious how the Lipstick for Strat might sound in there.

How to BBQ an SG?
Texas Blues fan here...I've got an SG Standard with stock pups and I'm looking to BBQ it, trying to get a Stevie Ray clean tone and an early Billy Gibbons sound for overdrive. Do you guys think it's possible? I figured the bridge pup is to shrill so it would need to be fattened, and the neck may be ok, though some have touted a Pearly Gates in that position. BTW, I was warned AGAINST the Pearly in the SG bridge b/c of the shrillness. Now I leave it to the experts to opine...
