Hi All

I have a marshall 2100slx with el-34 tubes and today when I was playing I looked inside the head and one of the power tubes were not glowing. Does that mean the tube has failed and needs to be replaced?

I read in an old issue of GuitarOne that if you put those silicon gel packets from shoeboxes in your guitarcase it'll help the guitar handle environmental changes better. Is this is a good idea? Where exactly in the case would I put them? The part where the body is? The strap/pick holder? The headstock rest thinger?

I have a epiphone les paul studio but i don't like it clean i was thinking of changing the pickups to TV Jones TV Tron's (hum sized filtertrons) for a brighter more singcle coil like sound but also a nice dirty tone. Is it worth it or should i buy a fender MEXICAN tele instead (are these better then modded epi's).
I play through a Fender Pro Junior and My Dad's AC30 I want a chimy bright clean sound but i want to still have a nice distortion sound (r the MEXI tele to icepicky for overdrive)

Call me crazy, but I have found that different manufacture springs used with a Floyd Rose affect the tone quite a bit.

I like how the marshall plexi amps sound but they are very expensive so I was wondering if the reissue plexis 100 or 50 watt amps sounded good or close to the old ones. Also how would a vintage plexi compare to a seventies amp, either the nonmaster volume or the jmp master volume amps.
