Am I dumb or what? How can I get the trem arm knob off? Its a normal Fender Vintage 6 screw trem arm and I dont like that knob...

...I was wondering what kind of changes I could expect in my tone. I have never bought an aftermarket pup before, so I need all the help I can get. I have a Gibson LP w/ the 490R neck and 498T bridge, and I was thinking about putting in a set of Pearly Gates (I like a raw, slightly hairy tone for rock and blues). I run through a Fulltone '69 and an all tube 50w Crate V Series. I was just wondering the kind of change I could expect with the PGs. For my tastes, the 490R is a little muddy and the 498T can be a little harsh at times. Thanks for the help!

In the manual for my amp it says 2 of the tubes are ECC81/12AT7 and 2 are ECC83/12AX7. I was wondering if they are interchangable, and what the tonal difference between ECC and 12A tubes are. Thanks.

So strings, personally I used to be a big fan of the Fender Superbullets, and then I went EB.

So heres the deal. I have an upgraded epiphone les paul and a marshall avt50 amp. Im looking to spend $1000 dollars be it a new guitar or a new amp. As far as a guitar goes i am set on a brand new 05' American Strat that I could get for $875. On the other hand I could get one of the new vox ac30ccs for $1000. Please help me decide!
