We have a lot of die-hard vintage strat lovers around the forum. And there is good reason for that. A vintage strat is a great ax no question.

about my strat knockoff
This didn't work - skip down to the reply below...
Quite a few years ago... when I wasn't sure if I really wanted to get into this whole electric guitar thing... I bought a strat knockoff just to play with. It's a Hamer Slammer Pacer (long name for a cheap guitar). It actually has turned out quite nice - I've easily tripled the investment with new pickups, switches, pots, saddles, etc.

Single Coil Fender Precision Bass Pickups
Has anyone had experience with the single coil P bass replacement pickups such as the vintage, hot and quarter pounder? If so what are your experiences and which would you choose out of the 3 pickups. Thanks.

Groove tubes in a Marshall
has anyone else done this ? my dad just dropped it on me earlier to find him some groove tubes for his JCM900 and i was slightly thrown off. He said he'd used them before and they gave him a better sound that whatever he had in there before, lol reading that back i sound like an idiot.

Aw hell... what now?
I finally yanked those PAF Pros out of my MIA strat and loaded it with a JB/Jazz set... the pickups sound FABULOUS (worth another thread in and of itself) but now there's a LOT of noise flying around. Enough so that it causes a feedback-type noise when I'm playing with my POD. This didn't happen with the PAF Pros, so I must've messed up with the wiring and such. All the pickup selections work in their correct ways and all the leads are solidly connected as if the grounf but this sounds for all the world like a grounding problem.

Need your advice: pickups for mahogany
Just bought an old USA Hamer Chaparral (mahogany, no maple top, S/S/H) the guitar is amazing, but I really don#8217;t like active EMG pickups. I am going to replace them with s. But#8230; what model to choose?
I love Eklundh sound (Caparison Apple Horn - Caparison SH-27F in neck Caparison PH-R in bridge). A friend said Little '59 in neck and JB TB-4 in bridge would be a good choice. What do you think?

Wiring gurus: Tone without volume?
I was sitting in class today, and suddenly I was struck by an (admittedly random ) idea:

The usual pickup suggestion thread
I recently bought a OLP Axis MM1 and need a bridge pickup change. The guitar is in drop C and I need a pickup that retains clarity in this tuning. I was thinking of getting the DMZ drop sonic. The pickup must be able to handle alot of gain and have a nice tone for heavy rhythm.
Thanks in advance.
