i am about to buy another amp, i've been considering the behringer v-tone 212. if anyone has any experiance with these amps please let me know.

Right. So: My friend Bread and I have been buddies since 8th grade. We're both musicians and we both have had eternal difficulty finding other musos of similar mind/level to jam with us. He has now decided to play bass for my band; however, we really need to go all-out next year and he needs a good bass double time. The problem is that his dad is not paying $3 000 or whatever for a Music Man Stingray, so we need a cheaper alternative. Another friend of us has a Cort Action bass at home that nobody plays, and we can get that for about $100. My question to you all is: how good is the basic construction of this instrument? Bread is going to pimp the thing with Basslines pups, a Badass bridge, a new nut, and all that jazz. Will the pimped instrument be good enough to last a while (and play some Incubus), or is it complete crap?

if i have a FR kelly do my pups need to be trem spaced?

I feel that the tone chart provided on the site by SD is rather misleading. It shows duckbuckers as having the same output as a HSSL-3 hot. I have both and the SSL-3 is way hotter. Is this another misconception of mine or have any of you felt this way? I do lyk the tone of SD's... I would be getting ine fir my middle position, but i'd rly want to make an informed choice.

Let's say you have set a budget of $600 for a small tube combo. Would you get a 10-15 year old boutique (I should probably say used higher end amp) like a Rivera Thirty Twelve or Clubster or even one of those Soldano Yamaha's or would you get something new like a Peavey Classic 30, Crate V Series,Traynor, etc.

I'm thinking of putting in replacement locking tailpiece and tune-o-matic bridge in a Gibson LP. How do I find out or choose if I need small or large posts, or notched saddles ?
