Hey,
I'm thinking of putting in replacement locking tailpiece and tune-o-matic bridge in a Gibson LP. How do I find out or choose if I need small or large posts, or notched saddles ?

It sounds like you're looking at the Tonepros,your saddles do have to be notched on the tune-o-matic or the strings will slide and buzz.
The post size depends on the model,measure from the center of each exisitng post and use that measurement to order the ne pieces.
