Guys,
I am going to replace the stock pots/caps in my LP Classic with CTS audio taper but I want to retain the stock values because they work well for me! I always do that with my Gibsons.
I am guessing they are the typical 500k tone pots and 300k volume pots.
Does anyone know if I would need long or short shaft pots? I am in a similar situation with the Standard. I wish Gibson would just use higher quality pots in their regular production models!
Thanks!
* after searchig the net it appears nobody carries long shaft 300 audio tapers!!!!*
As far as I know the volumes are 300K linear taper and the tones are 500K audio taper. You need long shaft pots if the pots are mounted on a metal plate. Assuming your Classic is unmodded I am 99% certain you will need long shaft.
