Looking at my bumpersticker posted on my cubicle. It says, quot;Jackson, you won't go blind playing with this!quot; And it has a Jackson RR.

I was about to put it on my car, but one of our clients runs a school for the blind, and I figured it might be in poor taste to pull into the parking lot for a meeting... so it's on my cube wall.

I don't own an RR, but I've been thinking about it... like I really need another guitar to collect dust. But, then again it's so damn lethal looking. Yeah yeah, I now, you buy a guitar for how it sounds, not how it looks. You all know that's BS, too.

Convince me to go get one of these very lethal pointy-ended guitars. BTW, I already own two Jacksons.

Play one. I won´t have to do anything else after that.

And we all know Randy was God, so you almost HAVE to either fork up 5k for a LTD Shortwing or at least get a cool RR-1 in either black or white with Gold pinstripes and some sharkies. Just for the quot;Tribute Factorquot;

You KNOOOW You need it, Matt. Don´t try to deny it

Zerb,

I know you're probably right. This is just something that won't rest. Whenever I have a guitar playing dream (I know you all have these, too-where you can play absolutely anything), I'm always playing an RR - and it's black. So there you go. I don't think I'll ever justify another top-end Jackson, so perhaps one of the mid-priced lines in in order.

What models should I absolutely avoid?

Who are you trying to convince? Us...or yourself?

USA! USA! USA!

Just a little more inspiration for you!

And PROOF that they rock whether black or white or in color!

Oh man, I've always wanted a *RED* guitar. That guitar is very red. Ooooh boy.

Hmm, RED?? How about quot;BIG REDquot;?? As in a perfect copy of Robbin quot;Kingquot; Crosby´s (R.I.P.) Big Red....
from : localhost/cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...307016148amp;rd=1

I think Zerb meant to highlight the axes, not the porn tapes in the background.

The one RR on the right is precariously close to it's doom from falling off the couch.

When I can't hold back any longer, Zerb, I'll let you know... I'm sure you have some great resources for Jacksons.

theres porn tapes in the back?

I had a RR Jackson V once - special ordered it with the lightning sky. Ended up selling it. My fingers kept knocking the high E off the fretboard; the neck was too narrow from the low E to the high E. The JB (or trembucker?) in the bridge sounded better clean that distorted to me - not a good trait for a heavy metal guitar. Couldn't sit down and play it either, had to stand up (screw that, I hate standing up and playing at home). I was scared to scratch it too. The tips of the V will eventually hit everything in their path and chip. For such a beautiful axe, it wasn't for me, but I always thought it would be...oh well. I have a buddy that loves his. Guess that's how it goes. Give me a strat shape any day. Hail to Rhoads though; gotta respect him.

Meh ... get a Wayne!

i love randy's playing, but his tone was crap. the mids were always to high for my taste. those mids came from the v. i've got an ibanez v with one leg shorter than the other, it has those mids that i hate. i bought it cause it looked cool, it sounds like crap. there's also a balance issue. that thing is waaay neck heavy. even with a leather strap, the headstock dives toward the floor. it's hard enough to play a guitar that stays where you put it, but supporting the weight of the neck makes mine nearly unplayable. if you GOTTA have a jackson, get a dinky.

Kelly's and RR are among the few quot;shapequot; guitars that I think look cool...
