Well this is my first time trying to make a post with pics!

Like i said before in my earlier post:

this guitar is so much better than a 3000Euro Les Paul that i saw. I cant believe it!
Sounds better, feels better, and i think looks better too. the Les Paul i saw had ugly super light indian rosewood. i mean, how can this be? i paid 700Euro to put this together.

It is sooo not worth it to buy a ready made instrument if you know pretty much what you are doing.

well hope the pics came out. Sorry if they didnt.

It is a USACG -

1 Piece Honduras Mahogany Body ( oil Finished)
1 piece Birdseye maple neck ( oil Finished, but i want to laquer it cause it is geting dirty!)
-Callaham Bridge ( a work of art!)
- Jb in the bridge
- two Single coils from a old JV strat ( want to change them to black and different pickups)
-Shaller tunersSounds thick, musical, balanced , sustains for ever.
cant really play my Ibanez after this.

Superb guitar! Keep the neck oil finished and marvel in the fact that the dirt is all yours. Lacquering it could make a big difference in how it feels. Just my opinion!

Man it looks great!
Congrats.

Guys,

thanks alot for the praise.

the funny thing is that this is my FIRST guitar that i have made.
i mean i have been playing for a good 18 years now so i know basically what i am doing as far as setting guitars up well.

i just cant understand where these companies get off on selling instruments at 3000 Euros for that kind of quality.
Sorry, but it is pathetic!

I mean i really think that i am giving the guitar i made a fair rating as well, you know? i am not a 15 year old kid that just gets enthusiastic with the first thing they make ( no offense to this age group please)

i think that an improvement on this guitar i bought for future reference would be: Maybe a maple cap, or a lighter body for a richer resonance.

but besides that the guitar is a real solid instrument that is musical.

i just really think i will never buy another ready made guitar again. Knowing how they make cost reductions in there production process.

Know what i mean? kinda?

yeah...i know what you mean...and i think it's great that you've got something there that has made you this happy!!! it's a great looking guitar and you must feel good about designing it yourself!!!

Beautiful piece man, congrats!

I know what you mean for sure, but also keep in mind that a Strat is a pretty simple build. A glued-in neck or a set neck will be more labor intensive and more expensive, then once you start getting into doing binding, carved tops, etc. etc.

However, since building my strat I would have to think long and hard before buying another production bolt-on guitar.

Looks cool, but those white Singlecoil covers don't fit it imo... (as you said)

yeah to be fair i should say that it isnt worth it for me to buy a Manufacture made Bolt-on guitar.

glued in neck guitars as are Les Pauls are more labor intensive, agreed.

but of course i still think that 3000 Euro is waaaaaay too much for the quality.thanks guys!

oh and by the way i am ready to start my second project already.

is this how it all starts?

get one nice instrument and then you are hooked?

Yep! I'm in the middle of a second project right now

Just wanted to post this again so the guy asking about linseed oil can see my Axe.

i finished it with both linseed oil and Danish oil.

the Danish oil i actually liked more cause it gave it shine and leaves more of a protective cover.i posted a couple more here so you can see how it is in oil when i just got done putting the last coats.
