Any Orange amp owner users?

Brow (Craig) is the only forum member that I know of that owns an Orange.

I own an AD15/12. It's a nice 15-watter with a unique British tone -- not really Vox or Marshall or HiWatt, but somewhere in that mix I suppose. It has a lot of mid-range and high end, but not a lot of low end. It is very quiet at idle, and the build quality and components are excellent. The tone controls are very responsive, and the master volume works well -- 10 o'clock and up let the amp breathe nicely. I sometimes think the Vintage 30 speaker is a bit harsh in the upper mids, so I've thought about replacing it. The Orange website has a decent forum with good user opinion and info.

I am not an Orange owner.
Wish I was though

Mind you, most of my playing is at bedroom level, so a V-amp and tranny fender do me just nicely at the mo... but playing very loudly in front of an Orange half stack sure does sound nice!!!

I play through a old 70's Orange OR-120 head (which is a non-mastervolume model) through a beat up Orange 4x12. Sounds great for Blues amp; Rock n Roll! Which basiclly is what I play. One of the best amps I've played through anyway. Here's a picture of it:

Exactly right my friend

My Orange is a single channel, master volume 30w head. I use mine with either a Marshall 1936 2x12 cab or (when space allows) a 70's Orange 4x12 cab with Celestion and McKenzie speakers.

I've used both setups (head 2x12 and head 4x12) at gigs over the last few weeks and the head with the Orange 4x12 is definitely a killer sounding setup.

It's loud as hell too! I used it at a Battle of The Band gig last week and with the amp on 7, I had ringing in my ears for about 3 days after

one day. an Orange Rockerverb one side of me and a Matamp Green the other. from that day on i shall be deaf. but happy.
