Fred/PAF Pro Combo...
Well, the only DiMarzios I have owned were the Breeds and Twang Kings. With my OLP MM1, I thought I'd do the Joe Satriani setup that he used on quot; The Extremistquot;. That would be the Fred/PAF Pro combo. I just installed them last night and tested them for connectivity and balance. So far so good. The thing I noticed is that, while both have 2 rows of hex poles, the PAF Pro's poles are black, while the Fred's are chrome. I thought it weird since Satch was using the PAF Pro when DiMarzio designed the Fred for him. Anyway, so far, I see the tone of the PAF Pro being just like a modern PAF but a little more hollow and with more output and character. SRV tones could be had with it as well as Gary Moore quot;Still Got The Bluesquot; tones. It really depends on your right hand technique. It seems to be very sensetive to your playing style. The Fred is fat and has an upper mid bark to it but it's a more polite bark than the JB. With proper right hand technique, I can make it sound like a nice fat Tele bridge pickup. A good description would be quot;Friendsquot; from quot; The Extremistquot; CD. I think the basswood body plays a big part in this too. I love Satch's tone. He's a bit more woody and not quite as processed-sounding as Vai. His playing is also more musical AFAIC. I will be playing at full volume Sunday morning and evening at a concert I'm performing in. I'll post those results Monday morning.

Duncan Distortion and JB
i've got a mahogany guitar and i'm thinking about putting a Distortion in the neck and a JB in the bridge and having a coil spliter. I want something with POWER and VERSITILITY. I need a pickup combo that can go from a Dire Straits sounds to a Led Zeppelin sound to a Megadeth sound to everything in between but still have my own sound. Anyway i was wondering if this pickup combo will sound good for what i want? if the Duncan Distortion sounds good in the neck? and how these pickups sound split? Other suggestions welcome. Thanks.

A2 or A5 magnet PAF's for 335?
I've got a 335 amp; want to know what type of PAF's would suit a 335, in terms of magnets?

My UGD Custom Shop P90 by MJ and SF!
Well, MJ did wind the coil herself. Probably why it works! We used dun-aged A5 magnets and the pup was underwound. I'm using it with an Antiquity P90 with A2 mags in the bridge.

I want to replace the tuners on my Taylor acoustic. I wanted to know which type of grovers were the best? OR if there were maybe some even better tuning machines (besides Waverly)

Help with Kustom KAA65 amp!
Hey guys. I have a Kustom KAA65 acoustic guitar amp here that is buzzing and clicking while turned on. It does not consistantly buzz or click, but the amp will do it on any channel and happens randomly for a short while(10-45 sec) then stops. The noise is sort of a continuous buzz with an evenly spaced click(1/4 a sec - 1/2 a sec apart). Do any of you ahev any suggestions on what might be the problem?
Thanks a lot!
