Hey iv herd over and over that people prefer a head than cab because you have better tone than if you get a combo amp (im talking about tubes only.) How much of this is true? and if it is why?

My friend just got a 70's mockingbird from his uncle. We're just tryin to find out how much its worth. The serial # is 87698, its classic white, kahler hardtail bridge, 6-in-line non reverse headstock, and I think it has Lawrence lx pickups? Thanks for any help

Am I correct that if I'm going to place a single coil between two humbuckers, like in an HSH configuration, whether or not the single is RW/RP is not quite so important?

Hey guys... lusting for a hamer studio right now... I wanted to know what you thought of the 59 vs. the custom for the bridge. The reason I ask is that I am really leaning toward the c-5 over any other pickup but it doesnt seem much different than the 59 that comes in the bridge standard with the guitar. Higher output, obviously... is that it? I like high output but I also like not having to mess around with the guitar or buy new pickups
