Would it hurt the output transformer on an amp if I switched from one 8 ohm cabinet to another 8 ohm cabinet while playing? Assuming I had the cabinets wired up with a switch and just stepped on it to toggle from a quot;soloquot; 10quot; speaker cabinet to a quot;rhythmquot; 8quot; speaker cabinet. Would there be a small amount of time when switching from one to the other where there may be no load?

New Amp, Yay!
Not sure how many have read some of the threads I've been posting recently. Basically I've been *****ing about my amp, Marshall JTM 60. I've come to the decision that I'm going to get a new one, as soon as I can afford one anyway. I'm not sure how relevent me giving you my price range will be as I'm a Brit, and we seem to pay a lot more for most things over the pond, but it's hopefully going to be about £1000 ($1900) once I've sold my current amp.

Voodoo 59's or Lollar Imperials?
hey guys, new to the forum. im torn between two boutique humbuckers,
Peter Florance's Voodoo 59s and Lollar Imperials. clips of both sounded great. ive heard many say the Voodoo's are bright, and the Imperials are unpotted so they might tend to squeel under high gain. has anybody had experience with either pup? thanks

Too much bottom end
One of my guitars has a really fat tone - fattest I've ever played. Great highs and mids but there is too much low end that sounds flubby when you start to increase gain. It would sound so awesome if I could just reduce the low end a little bit. I'm wondering if anyone has ever used some sort of high pass filter inside the guitar to accomplish something like this? If so, what did you do?

Good quality basses for cheap (well you get what I mean)... 2nd hand or new, for xmas
Well for instance guitar wise, 80s Fenders and Charvels/Jacksons are said to be amazing bang for the buck second hand. They go for cheap and are amazing. I may want a bass for xmas but I have no idea what to start looking for. What matters to me is not the sound but the luthery. If it's well built and looks good, I'm all for it. I do my own setup and by xmas most likely fretwork, so 2nd hand doesn't matter as much. I don't have ANY requirements, so 21 frets or 24, 34'' or whatever other scale, nothing matters as much as good woods and assembly quality New or second hand. Any help is appreciated. Cheers guys!
