Scott_F sent me his Franklin 15 to put through its paces so i spent the better part of the afternoon playing it with my tele-clone, my PRS, my brian moore, and my ibanez artist ... i gotta tell you, right off the bat, it looks like total class sitting on an amp stand in my practice room / computer room ... as soon as i turned it on, i knew it was going to be a top shelf experience because i heard ... nothing ... absolutely nothing ... it was dead quiet with the amp on and the volume on my tele clone (pickup switch set for neck and bridge together in parallel) turned up to about 8 ... i set all four of the controls to about 9:00 ...

I'm trying to figure out which preamp tubes to by for my ADA MP-1, and down the road I might change my Peavey Classic 60/60 to a different type of power tube, so I'm wondering what model and brand everyone else uses. I'm leaning towards the high gain JJ ECC83S for the MP-1. What type and brand do you use (pre and power)?

I've done as much reading as I can, and it seems to me that the APH-1 (Alnico II Pro) is very, very similar to the EVH 78 Custom shop pickup (for the Bridge spot).

I recently noticed the output of my Lil' 59er (bridge) was lower that my APS's?
I raised it up a bit, No difference. Next I thought it was a cold solder joint. So I opened it up and re soldered. Still the same? It sounded like it was coil split, But it was still humcanceling. So I opened it up again and metered it. It was 4.72k. Now Green wire it to the pot GRN. Black to the switch, red amp; white soldered and tapped off. (I think I know how to Install a PuP by now )
