Oh man guys... I've been listening to Ensiferum for a bit now, they're a German metal band I believe. Anyway, on their Tale of Revenge CD single they do a cover of Metallica's Battery (I don't think that song needs an introduction), and the tone of the guitars is amazing both for crunch and for soloing. Would anyone know what these guys are using?

i installed a little 59er in my tele bridge spot fairly recently...black to the selector switch (same spot as previous pickup) white and red togehter, silver and green together and grounded. I get this terrible you-didnt-ground-this-right noise (that diminishes whne i touch something grounded...) as well as when both the little 59er and the stock neck pickup are selected together (middle position) this nasally, out of phase sound. what did i do wrong/how can i fix this! this is sort of urgent, so hopefully i'll hear back soon! thanks in advance!

Man, I need to stop going to music stores on my lunch break. Yesterday I played a Dean EVO Special Select just like the one here in Tiger Eye finish: from : localhost/it's a sweet player. I didn't realize it was made in Korea until after 5 minutes of playing it. Unplugged it resonates really well. The finish is beautiful, neck is smooth. I haven't played a Dean in a long time. This one easily can stand up against an Epi Les Paul. The split coil feature using push/pull knobs is nice. Pickups sound full, with high gain or squeaky clean. I showed my wife a picture of it and she like it, even asked how much it was. That doesn't give the green light by any means but shows her interest. Since I just got my LP in Feb I won't be getting a new guitar any time soon. I need a new amp first.

I'll have a set of ZW EMG's for my schecter next saturday woo! The thing I've kinda hated about EMG's is the absolute brittle bright harsh sound with an EMG in the bridge when u go above the d strings. What's your opinions on switching the EMG's so it's 85 bridge and 81 neck? What kind of sound sohuld I expect? I will also be doing the 18 volt mod if I can.

Man did Vintage Guitar disappoint me this month. On the cover they say they are having a low watt amp shootout... which got me quite excited since thats what i am in the market for. But after reading the article I came away very dissapointed, not with the amps but withthe article. They had 10 or so high quality boutique amps to compare and contrast, and they didn't really compare the amps tonal qualities at all. They spent more time talking about the builders and the looks of the amps than talking about the amps tones. It almost seems like they are afraid to say anything bad because they don't want to piss anyone off. The article did point me in the way of the the Emery Sound and Torres amps so I guess I shouldnt be that mad. I just thought VG could have done alot more with what they had.

Right, so I want to replace the bridge humbucker in my fat strat. I don't need tons of distortion, not into metal or anything. I'm looking for something balanced, with good mids and cleans and good distortion, any suggestions? Also, is pole spacing going to become and issue with a fender? any help is appreciated.

How will it affect my tone? Will it add bass to an already bass heavy pickup (e.g 59)?

Will a Duncan Custom be too bright in a Floyd guitar? I like my guitars on the bright side since I'm playing into a dark amp (Mesa Single Rec.)

What are some really smooth sounding neck pickups. I guess i mean without alot of initial attack. But it needs to be articulate. It would be for shred in a basswood guitar under high gain. (humbucker)

Recently I've been wanting a tele.. I can't afford it, I know that, but maybe sometime in the future I would be able to afford a good tele copy. What would you recommend? The tokai's? others? Chime in please

so i just picked one up from ebay for 15€,near mint condition, since i thought it looked interessting and had some good reviews considering the sounds and options it offers. So expect from the little switching problems which are stated in about any review but should be easy to fix, anyone here who has one and wants to give some insights on this unit. It wouldn't be a loss if it sucked since i payed nearly nothing but still let me hear what you think.
