Hey y'all. I just got a no-name humbucker on the cheap... it has three wires, presumably 2 separate coil-hots plus the grounds, which are wrapped together.

My friend brought over a bass he wanted me to look at for another one of his friends. It's a Rogue XB Pro 4. (i just looked it up) So at first, we couldn't get any sound out of it save for a few crackles, but then I looked in the battery box and there was nothing in there. I borrowed the battery out of my EBow and gave the bass some life, but then the signal coming out of the bass seemed to be totally distorted. It sounded as if there was a fuzzbox built into the thing, but none of the knobs really cut back the distortion. Does anyone know what's going on here?

i have a brand new ashville a model mandolin in vintage sunburst color. it has had a pro set-up once it came in thats all the time its been outta the box. i ordered it for a freind of mine, whom after it came in said he was having financial troubles and could no longer afford it. so i guess i'll try to move it here on the forum. this mandolin plays great and has great action, the sound quality is pretty good considering its a cheaper mandolin(nothing like an old gibson) but will be looking to get $90 plus actual shipping cost by carrier of your choice(usps 1st class will be around 7 to 10 dollars) comes with a 5 year warranty and i can sell you a case at wholesale also if you would like one. ($40 deluxe hardshell, list is $99, but the shipping will go up a few dollars) would also consider trades.

So, I tried a search and found some mentions about this pickup, but I didn't see any explanations to what it actually sounds like. Anybody know? Someone from SD? How well can I compare it to the sound of quot;Iommiquot; -album?

Its a MIM strat frm '96 tt i juz got hold of, i like the sound of it but im having a hard time deciding if i should refinish it or leave it this way... it looks pretty beat up for a 9 yr old strat some would say it's reliced

I just got 2 hotstack Duncans today. They came out of an mid 80's Kramer Pacer Deluxe.

It's a cream 90's supertrat style (EX series) It's beat up and such, but a nice neck. So i wanna get rid of that super thick seal and paint. It's got a nice chip out of it and i can see at least 4mm thick near-clear layer, then the colour. All i want to do is get this axe down to the wood and leave it naked. Is it safe/effective to use a ordinary paintstripper? It's noxious stuff. But i certainly don't wanna sand it down! Ive used this stuff and it seemed safe on the wooden doorframes and shelves, and says it's woodsafe.
