i just installed a hot rails bridge and an alnico II pro neck and the alnico doesnt seem to be fitting very well. this is my first time doing this and im familiar with the wiring so that was no problem...but the alnico doesnt seem to fit very well. the screws sort of go inwards through the pickguard and theres a small space around the pup all the way around. i probably sound like a complete idiot but is there anything i can do? do i need to get a different guard? also, i have been reading a bit in here the last couple of days and i dont see anyone who has the same pup setup i do. maybe i made a bad choice but i love the hot rails and alnico's sound great so i dont think i went wrong. thanks for the input.

I've currently got 2 59's (bridge and neck) in my ES 335 copy. As per another post, I'm looking for more output and quot;drivequot; from my bridge pickup so I'm probably going to trade in one of my 59's for a Custom 5.

I just bought one of these guitars last night from guitar center on clearance. List price was arround 2500 and they were trying to sell the guitar on sale for 1500. They finally put the guitar on clearance for 700 and the deal was too good to pass up. My strat is the Series 1 which has 3 single coils with a tobaco sunburst and rosewood fingerboard as shown on the floyd rose website I need more time before I can write an extensive review; however, I will say that this is one of the nicest sounding and playing strats that I have ever played. The pickups sound excellent, and the neck is perfect. The body is swamp ash and the guitar has excellent tone unplugged even with the floating floyd rose and 9s. I already have an esp with a floyd rose and I think that the new speedloader trem is a huge improvement in the design;however, I am not thrilled about the fact that you have to use their brand of strings. I am not sure if all guitar centers are putting these guitars on clearance but the guitar center in San Diego has another tobacco burst series 1 for 700 and a red series 2 with two humbuckers for 800. If you can get past the weird looking headstock (no tuners) then this is really a great deal. I am very excited to finally have a single coil guitar since all of my guitars have 2 humbuckers.

My precious Cherry Valance.. ( Wine red studio) Awhile back I took her for a pro set up and got her back with school bus fret dress. Took her back friday asking for the luthier to give them a proper crown. He apologized that it wasnt to my liking and said he would do it. Hopefully today will be a very enlightening day!

The guitar I'm looking at, the Godin LG signature has a jazz model pickup and a custom custom. I picked this guitar out mainly because it has a mahogony body and already has decent pickups. I mainly play rock lightly infulenced by blues and jazz, but i also have to be able to play classic metal like iron maiden and heavy rock. Can the pickups in that guitar do all those genres? I mainly need good rock infulenced by blues, but i'd like to fuse metal and blues together as well and my band enjoys playing heavy rock. If those pickups aren't that versatile can you suggest any other pickups for it, i'd prefer using passive cause i dont know much about installing actives but i can always learn. Also what about mixing the seymour jazz pickup with an EMG?

What kind of sound should I expect if a replace my stock neck and brdge pickups in my american made strat with a JBjr in the bridge and Lil 59 in the neck. I will be leaving the middle single coil and splitting the 2 and 4 positions.

is there any way of puttin a peizo pup on my sheraton and use it while my bridge/ neck pup is in use? so it sounds like there is an acoustic playing over distortion on one guitar?

In another thread we were discussing p90s and I wanted to investigate the possibility of using a dummy coil- But I can't find any detailed info on how to detirmine if this is possible, the impact it might have, how to wire, and especially how to make the dummy coil-
