In excel 2000 we can make a backup copy using tools-general options in
saveas
window.
but in present excel 2002 if I follow this there is trouble.
suddenly it refuses to save (control S) because of some quot;share violationquot;
and quot;can save only a temporary file or you will lose changes now and in
future also blah blahquot;. I cannot even copy that error message. I am not
able to save in the same name;. . In
the backup winodw I did not enter any password etc. Of course I did not
check quot;read only (recommended)quot; item also.even if I delete the file I am not
able to delete the back up file. my folder is getting filled up with all the
temporary files and back up. I removed this back up option and then save it
seems to work but I dont know next time what it will do.

this excel workbook is from an excel 2000 in my old computer. is that the
reason for the problem. or is it some problem in my computer. there is no
help in excel 2002 for quot;backup copy of workbookquot;

somebody may
please educate me on this. Is there any possibnility of having back up
