Can anybody advise me on the formula for the following:

I am wanting to auto count values in a cell range e.g A1:A10

The data in these cells will only be a quot;Xquot; OR quot;Yquot;, i only want excel to
count the quot;Yquot; values amp; ignore the quot;Xquot; values?
Any suggestions or solutions would be most appreciated.
