Hello all, just wanted to share some clips with you. I'm pretty happy with the basic tone in these clips, but I want to know if the rest of you can tell me why there seems to be some clipping/crackling/popping in some parts of the clip. Can you guys hear it, or is it something with my PC/headphones?? Secondly, I want suggestions on how to improve the tone. Cut back the treble a bit? Make it a little wetter/drier? More mids? Less mids? More bass? Less bass? I'm going for a Lynchy tone, but not quite there, lol. I do however love the crunchiness. Oh, and about my playing, yeah, I'm sloppy as hell and the timing is off etc.

Would you guys recommend using a fan to blow on the power tubes on a marshall 2100slx 100w amp? I think read somewhere it is a good idea to do that. I'm not sure if it may be good tone wise because the power tubes are kept cooler while playing. I know that heat coming from amps can get warm after playing a bit. I just wanted to get your guys thought on it.

Bit of a pun, there. Yes, it's an all humcancelling Tele, but at the moment it's also truly silent: nothing is wired together and it has no strings. Still, not a bad looker, eh? No one has ever given a definitive answer as to what all that splotchiness is. It started about a year after I bought it (it started as a '96 Tex-Mex Tele Special; I bought it in '98) and steadily progressed to its current condition over the next four years or so. Haven't seen any change since 2003 or thereabouts.

Alright I just got my SH-1 '59 Humbucker, and instead of having 3 different colored wires inside the insulation, I have just the metal coating, insulation, and many silvery thready wires inside it. I have a Fender mexican fat strat... What the hell am I supposed to do...

I have a duosonic, and love the 3/4 neck, but I also like the strat body. I'd like to put a duosonic neck on a strat body (did I surprise any of you with that one? )

Anyone happen to use these two together? What are your thoughts on the tone of them together? How do you feel about the CL80 alone? I have experienced Vintage 30's before, but never heard a CL80 setup, or a mix of the two. Any songs or artists that I could listen to for a comparison?

I have a pretty new EMG H4 (the one Alexi Laiho uses) for possible trade/sale.

I'm putting a new pickguard on my Fender so it'll fit a full-sized bridge humbucker and I really want one of those blue flower print ones. The only one I could find was at and was like $62...and that seems really high for some reason.

Last night was TO rehearsal, and I brought the VHII-equipped s00per strat along for the ride.
We were stuck in one of the smaller rooms, and the room really sounded awful! I opted for a 50W JCM900 head instead of the Diesel VH-4, which doesn't like pedals in front of it too much. I set pretty much every control that matters (Gain, M Volume, Bass, Mid, Treble) for 8 and the Presence at 12:30.
