Played a James Tyler quot;Stratquot; yesterday
Man...was it good! Maybe the most resonant Strat I've ever played....and one of the best necks if not THE best. Are they all that good? The owner says they are! This one had a Wilkenson tremolo, very lightweight alder body and a gorgeous birdseye neck with jumbo frets. The truss rod was installed by sawing the fingerboard off of the plank the neck was made from, routing the neck, and then gluing the fingerboard back on again so the neck looked like it was one piece with no truss rod. Very cool! What does Tyler do to make his guitars sound so resonant? Anyone know? Does he install graphite rods in the neck to stiffen it or something? Lew

I'm sick of guitars playing like crap from the factory!
I was playing most of my guitars tonight, and a thought crossed my mind.
Most of my guitars needed reslotted nuts, better action and intonation jobs, which either I or a luthier did. Why? I paid good money for them.

Recommendations for good basic digital multitracker?
What is a good basic digital multitracker for home use? Main use would be for songwriting and home demos, but might also want to use it for basic band demos. Built in drum machine would be nice.

Wood Question
How would you compare the tone of ash, mahogany, and limba? And does white limba sound different than black limba?

Anybody tried ac30cc 1x12?
I am very interested in these ac30cc amps and would like to get the 2x12 but dont want to deal with the weight and size. The 1x12 is appealing to me, but what are the tonal differences between the two?

les paul suggestions?
i've decided to upgrade the pickups in both my SG standard and Les Paul classic. i'm going to go with WCR fillmores for the SG, but i'm still undecided about the paul. i've narrowed it down to WCR darkbursts and a covered pearly gates set. which would you choose? i'm looking for a zeppelin-esque tone, kinda bright but thick and warm at the same time. i play through a vintage orange half stack. thanks guys.

Avatar Cabs
How are Avatar cabs? I've been thinking about getting a 2x12 with a Vintage 30 and a G12H30, and I was wondering if anyone here has any opinions or reviews of them. Thanks.

Custom Sperzel Tuners
Not a spam post or anything like that. Just thought you guys and gals might like to know about a website I stumbled across while shopping for Sperzels. This guy hand builds really nice electrics and also offers drop ship ordering for custom Sperzels. You can order them in many different colors and can even order the individual parts of the tuner in different colors. I ordered the regular thumb screw model in chrome with (and here's where it gets cool) faux ivory buttons for my Les Paul Special Faded. These buttons are a major facelift for anyone's Gibson or other guitar with 3 on a side tuners. If you like Gibson green key tuners, you will LOVE these faux ivory buttons. You can also get faux pearl buttons and can order just replacement buttons for those all metal Sperzels you may already have. I paid $77.50 total and was very pleased with the service. Seriously, why be limited to just chrome, gold or black when you can get them just the way you want them for about $20 more. No, I don't work for the guy but I just had to share this with everyone because I'm very happy with my new tuners. And trust me, the buttons look much, much better in person than on the website. Anyway, if you're thinking about Sperzels or maybe new buttons, this is THE place to go. P.S. I think they are probably lighter weight with the faux ivory or peral buttons.
