I know its been asked before, but does the Twangbanger have more balls and low end than the Red Velvet. I find the red Velvet to still be lacking in the ooomph department.

Need help picking out a tube amp for $350-400
Hey everyone,
my buddy is currently looking on ebay to pick up a new or used amp off ebay, and i'm strongly encouraging him to just go ahead and get a tube amp. He's looking for a 1x12 combo, and plays mostly heavy stuff (metallica type i think) but wants something that can clean up nicely. Actually , he probably wouldn't know the difference of a good clean from a decent clean, let alone use it. So based off heavier distortion, what would be a good recommendation? My only suggestion so far is a laney aor (from what i've heard about em, never played one). Any help? thanks everyone.

Woodies
Maybe the older forum members can help with this... What's up with guitars from the 70s always being stripped down to bare wood? Old strats and pauls in shops and on ebay from that era... they've always been stripped down to bare wood and varnished.

What is the difference between a '59 reverse polarity and a regular '59?
What would be the reason for a reverse polarity '59 bridge? Evidently my Fender has a PG neck and a '59 RP bridge.

EMG Pickup Question....
When you take out the cable from your guitar, do the pickups still drain the battery? Or does it stop using the batteries?

The Tinker**** Fairy Is Visiting Me Again!!!
I was going through my pictures I have hosted and I was digging out a pic of my T-Bird for Puckboy's thread. I started looking at that picture and thought- quot;Man, that's one cool-ass lookin' bass. I don't play that enough.quot; But then I thought quot;It just doesn't sound the way I want it to...quot;

From What Little I've Heard So Far? Vox Head Groovy!
I just got the head tonight and I Like the tones I've heard so far through my Cyber Twin's Celestion 2x12s...I couldn't crank the Vox up to good tonight,but I Liked how quick and easy it was to dial up some good guitar tones even at lower volumes..The amp also seems to respond nicely overall and not in a harsh ss kind of way(very cool).

A question regarding hybrid pickups
Ok this is directed to those of you with urges to make hybrid pickups. Theoretically considering when a humbucker is taken apart into the 2 separate coils they are both usuable single coil pickups right? So in theory would it be possible to take 2 traditional strat single coil pickups (such as the duncan quarter pounder for what I have in mind...) And put them together as you would a humbucker.
