I was going through my pictures I have hosted and I was digging out a pic of my T-Bird for Puckboy's thread. I started looking at that picture and thought- quot;Man, that's one cool-ass lookin' bass. I don't play that enough.quot; But then I thought quot;It just doesn't sound the way I want it to...quot;
One thing I've pretty well figured out over time is that you're not easily going to make something do what it's not meant to do. Yes, you can up-armor a Humvee to be resistant to an RPG, but wouldn't a Bradley, LAV or a 113 serve that purpose better? I went through this with my EB-0, it's a short scale mahogany bass with a massive pickup at the end of the fretboard- it's not ever going to sound quot;likequot; a Precision or Jazz, no matter what you do.
Does anyone have any experience with an onboard preamp similar to the J-Retro or the Sadowsky systems that might work on a T-Bird? I have no intentions of tearing up the bass for any reason- but if it just entailed soldering in a PCB and slipping it into the control cavity...
