Well, I couldn't help myself. I just bought another Gibson sight-unseen. This time it is a Lucille from Dave's. Since it's at Dave's, a dealer I trust, and not drop-shipped from Gibson, I am confident it will be a good guitar. I just couldn't pass on his sale price of $1595. And I still have my PRS Navarro on order from ccitymusic. Now all I need is a plaintop natural Les Paul custom (70's Norlin style)

Just bought one of these today:Just ordered one of these, due to ship in April/May: and am GASsing for one of these:
Man if thatdoesn't scream Mick Ronson, needs a black back and sides though.

That PRS is niiice, i've never seen a white one before. How much does one of them retail for? And i hope this Gibson ent covered in sawdust when you get it

Hahaha! You're unreal, TC! Nonetheless, enjoy!

That white PRS is stealing my look. Mad props and more envy from me tho, you frickin frick

-X

What the F@#k do you do for a living? And, do they have any more openings? How is a poor bastid like me to compete?

I second the frickin' frick comment

Superlatives escape me . . . the Lucille is just . . .

Hey. Since you're in the guitar-ordering mood, could you order me a super flamed R58? I'll gladly pay you Tuesday

I'm a cop in SoCal, make $85k base, between $110k-$120k depending on overtime (due to understaffing, there's been a lot of OT lately). But I also bought a home when they were dirt cheap and own for less than many rent around this part of the country, and I just racked my credit card up $5k so I gotta sell something, lol. So it's not like I don't feel the pinch - I do. But I don't own a boat (like most cops and fireman) and guitars is my personal vice. I am however, slowly homing in on a few pieces of quality gear. I'm done buying everything that catches my eye (althout you might not know it).

I've been jonesing lately for a Les Paul Standard with a natural maple top ('95-2000 model). There's something about natural maple tops I just love especially with gold hardware. That Lucille's a beauty, although I'd personally change the pickguard to black.

LOL....I was thinking the same thing. I knew he was a cop, but I didn't know they made that much. I thought they only made about $25,000 per year. I guess I was wrong.

jesus that's more than I'd make if I took that FBI job.

Is being a cop in SoCal kind of crappy? And btw, if may move to southern cali at some point in the future. If we run into each other, take it easy on me.

Well now who do you think I'd have make it for me?

congrats man, I hope it works out for you!

Some cops don't make ****, depends on what part of the country you're in, and the cost of living there. Feds don't make **** either, so while the FBI sounds fancy, they're a bunch of paper-pushing (no disprespect meant to FBI, but they have no street time is all) Federal employees with GS pay scales, and it ain't much on average. SoCal is very expensive to live in, and cops in CA are regulated a lot higher than many other states and thus pay more as an incentive. Basic academy in CA is 7 months, compared to 12 weeks for federal law enforcement. Also, the average home price here is curently $650,000 !!!!

And on the downside, I've been hit, kicked, spit on, blead on (mine and theirs), shot at, and sued, so if you're game, we're hiring

I was just looking at that, I totally want a black one. Do they even make them in black?

Well heck, have him make me a black one !!!

tat...as wattage said, our buddy makes the guards for the Lucille's for Gibson so i can say this...the pickguard will be 110% high quality...as for the rest of it...who knows lol. he can make you a black bound guard for it for sure...or an all black one...heck, anything you want actually...and it will be dead on to Gibson specs since he makes all of them anyway. i'll send you a PM with his contact info.

No thanks. I feel safer trading pot shots with the Taliban.
