Got left over 500t and 496r from my les paul.

Got a jackson j-50 sitting around also not sure on spec.

need to make something to match a a2ph neck

I hated the 'thrash' output and treble of the 500t and chucked in a demon.

Now i have these pickups sitting around and am wanting to put one in the bridge of my dean ml.

I dont have any specs on these but know the gibson magnets are ceramic and that must have some effect on output.

The magnet in the 500t looks far bigger than the 496r and jackson j-50.

Any advice?

Try it as is. You might like it. If you don't, maybe switching to alnico V might tame it a bit.

This afternoon i took the 2 thinner magnets from the 500t and replaced them with plastic clones from the old jackson humbucker to keep the coils stable. I waxed the pickup again because i noticed some wax loss when removing the mags (very crude way though, heating tea tree candles for the wax ha!, If it works who cares right!).

Hopefully im looking for some drop in output and little less brittleness from when i used it in my lp. Its gonna get thrown in the dean ml bridge with a blocked floyd so i hope it may be more useful.
