Hey all, Im wanting to order a few packs of DR Pure Blues 12-52s from MusiciansFriend, but after looking at this link, im a bit confused.

from : localhost/

Theres a PHR-12 set and a PHR-12/PL set, on the PL set it says the G string is plain.. does this mean that it is not or is a wound G, and is the regular 12 set's G wound or regular, because i am looking for a regular G.

Thanks-
ALex

anyone know?

plain is unwound.

Going the SRV route? Slick. I want to build up string size too. I'm working the tone- AA763(same layout as vibroverb), 15 inch JBL d130f speaker, duncan surfers in my strat.

I find that DR's tarnish a bit quick since they're pure nickel. I tried their 10 set a while back, but they play like a dream. Dont forget to crimp your wound strings before you cut, it has a round core so it could slip out of you dont.

Ya, i just recently moved to .11s but now i can bend past a whole step with no effort, im thinking ill slowly keep moving up, and stop at 13 at the least. I love thick strings with the Surfers, sounds so.... cool, i just need to get myself a SR or a Vibrolux.

Since I cant get the DRs with an unwound G on musiciansfriend, do you have a recommendation on what kind of strings i should go with? I usually like Nickel Plated or Nickel, but i play a ****load so nickel doesnt usually last, should i go with Daddario?

If you still want DR's, check out . They sell just about every gauge and type of DR's. More expensive than other sites, but I always go there just because no one else sells Tite-Fits in 10-52.
