Vox just came out with a new version of the ac-30 its available in 1x12, 2x12 and a head

I played one at NAMM. Very nice. The reverb is solid state so be ready for that. But, it sounds good regardless. There are some nice features on the back. I liked the amp. While I'm not willing to part with 2500-3000 for a handwired AC30, I would be tempted to try one of these. There might be a head in my future.

You can also blend the channels together which was rather pleasing to my ears.

The Vox website says tube driven reverb, but the sales rep at NAMM told me solid state. Hmm.... getting better.

im with you...3k is a no go...but $800.00 for a head might be a solid bet!
