I've checked out the seymour duncan wiring schematics and I couldn't find any suit my needs. Basically I want 2 humbuckers, a 3 way switch (strat style), a tone control for the neck pickup - but none for the bridge, and a volume control that works for both pickups (i.e. master volume like on a strat, don't misread that as 2 volumes).
What pots do I need, and how would I go about connecting this stuff?
Wire it like a modern Telecaster (not a 50's Telecaster) but connect the tone control to the same terminal of the 3-way switch that you connect your neck pickup to. Use two 500K pots and a .02 capacitor. When the bridge pickup is on by itself it will not have a tone control.
cheers Lew, I'll order the parts now
so it's this diagram, but with the 500k pots and other alteration?

Hey Shred; In that diagram, see the dark black line that comes off of the tone control, and goes to the right-most terminal of the volume control? Remove that wire from the volume control, and connect it to the upper, right-most terminal of the 3-way switch. In other words, to the same terminal as the white wire of the neck pup.
thanks, looks like i should be sorted for stage 1 then. stage 2 will be to put in a mid-range/gain booster in the last hole of the strat pickguard, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
there we go
