his tone with it was worlds better than the newer demon tones

I think his Demons would have sounded better if he switched to a Gain Monster of an amp.

The DD was my first Duncan. It does have great crunch. His tone on Back for the Attack is great.
i think lynch's best tone is on back for the attack (DD) and the first lynch mob cd (DD/demon proto/JB)
I have tried a few duncans, 59s, JB, sh-5 custom, and the
sh-6 distortion, and i think the distortion is seymours wild card. I love the sound that pick up gives me.
high output but clear articulation. Exellent for pinch harmonics, NO MUD. THis thing is awesome for dark sounding or short scale guitars and chambered solid bodies. love it. GOD BlESS and ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

both work great but it is more a matter of what you want?
the 59 is warmer and more syrupy and the jazz is faster and has more presence and a almost single coil tone when played hard
I want to try the seymourizer(DD neck model) in the neck i hear it is sweet but rude

one listen to paris is burning or te hunter proves why i am some other like yourself love the DD
it is not a distortion pickup it is a aggression pup with kind of a sweet tone to boot!
the name turns some off( i call my DD's the duncan aggressor models)
ther si no other that has the snarl bite and clean chunk of the DD
You definitely need to try the Distortion in the neck. A pair of Distortions will give you the best hard rock/shred metal tone your guitar is capable of. Combine those two with a 5 way switch and you can get some pretty tough hot strat single coil blues tones as well.

what does the neck seymourizer sound like?
is it bluesy? clear?
The Seymourizer is the old name for the Distoriton neck. It's smooth, but not quite as smooth as the APH. It's articulate, but not quite as articulate as the Jazz. It's some kind of happy medium of the two. It is powerful enough that you could play legatto for hours, never havng to pick a note, and you won't have to worry about geting drowned out. It's extremely easy to get harmonics out of it, even for a neck pickup. It's bright enough to cut through the mix, but not so bright that I don't like it (and I can't stand bright pickups). I wouldn't use it for extremely sparkly cleans, but if you split it, it'll do all right for you. It can be bluesy if you want it to be. It's one of those pickups that can do just about anything with the right amp.

LMAO dude you can't keep your mind straight about any one pickup for longer than 2 weeks.
The 59 is more scooped than the DDn. The DDn has quite a bit more lower mids which give it the growl I love. It definitely has a lot more output than the 59 or Jazz.

Not only the pickup but the guitar, the tube screamer and the amps he used, which changed on every album. Still, the DD is a killer pickup and I'd have one if I wasn't getting in to the vintage style pickups. The hottest I go now is the CC.
Pickups like Demon must be used with floyd rose equipped guitars, if you want to have a full sound .
The DD is a good p-u but very compressed , it is not suitable for fast shredding .
