first, what exact notes do you tune each string to second, do you need a baritone guitar or is one made for standerd tuning okay

Hi All!

Went to the music store yesterday and got a few packs of acoustic strings. I was in the process of changing my strings and put the low E string on and was tightening the string and the bridge pin kept slipping out and the string would detune. So I pushed the bridge pin back in and tightened the string again and the bridge pin popped out again and again. I couldn't remember what gauge of strings were on the guitar before because its been so long since I put strings on it, so not thinking, I got some heavier gauge strings. I also noticed that the low E string was to thick at the end to fit the string into the groove of the bridge pin (just on the low E string). I'm wondering what the deal is. Could the string gauge I'm installing be to much for the guitar? Do I need new bridge pins? Perhaps new bridge pins with a bigger groove dow the side of the bridge pin? The guitar is an older Hohner model so I've also considered perhaps maybe its just so old that the bridge pin slots are stripped out or something?.... any thoughts? I'm just trying to make this acoustic playable til I can purchase another.

Fender Nocaster, wtf? It's just a tele, no?

i played a '72 tele in the store. i love the tone it had. does fender sell the wide range humbuckers that are on it? does anyone know what type of magnet is used? and if fender doesnt sell the pickup, does any aftermarket pickup company make one thats exactly the same?

I bid on a Peavey xxl head 3 days ago and suprisingly no one out bid me and I won it for $270 and I am waiting for it to come. The guy has shipped it and i should be getting it on thursday!!!

I have a Livewire Hot for Strat. When I got it, it was in (big surprise) a Strat. I pulled it out yesterday to put in a Red Lace, and noticed that there were 250k pots in place. I know that the Livewires are supposed to use 100k pots. Wired with the 250k, the pickup was still very hot, but I don't know what it's supposed to sound like.

Looking at the Bare Knuckle Warpig and listening to a soundclip, I have to say I'm very interested. Like an Invader with more articulation and a little more musical with the A5 instead of ceramic (not to mention no huge hex screw heads). But even a gear-whore like me isn't paying over $200 USD for a single pickup.
