I just bought these a coupla weeks ago and finally got to installing them in my Japan Ibanez SCA220 this afternoon, after I bought me a new soldering iron I got a matched set, one for bridge and one for neck. Let me tell you, for me, these are the holy grail pickups! Neck:
This is what is most important to me: sweet, singing neck pickup tones for leads. I'd prior found that vintage single-coils have the tone, but not all the power I needed, and that vintage humbuckers have the muscle, but not the tone I wanted. So here it is, the HUMBUCKER FROM HELL! The fine mix of glassy, rich, and soulful single-coil tone paired with the muscle and solid sustain of a good humbucker. The sound is everything I've ever wanted, and this is honestly the clearest, most defined pickup I've ever played. You can hear the definition of every note in every chord. The tone reminds me a lot of SRV, but crank up to high-gain and look out! It's like a super-defined Yngwie tone, which I adore. Couldn't ask for more, this is one excellent pickup, it's no wonder Paul Gilbert uses it! On cleaner settings, it is very Hendrix-esque, so basically, you're classic Strat sound is compacted in this pickup, but with more output and sustain. I wired it to be tapped as well, and once you do that, the tone is traditional single-coil, with almost no noticeable drop in output. Very cool indeed. For anyone who craves clarity and loves a beefy single-coil sound in a humbucker size, this is THE pickup to have!

Marshall JCM 50 watt Lead Series 2x12 combo with reverb, model number 4212 from '83. How much is one of these worth in good condition, and do you guys rate them? I'm hoping this amp will be the end of my search for a good tube amp.

Have an Epiphone Special II with a high output quot;detonatorquot; in bridge with the standard epiphone pickup in the neck position. Like the setup but am limited to 2 sounds. The impedence difference is too great between them and am not happy with sound when both humbuckers are selected. I am considering doing the following and wonder if you guys can comment if this will work ok.
I have a push-pull switch with a pot on top of it and can install it so I can go series/parallel on the bridge pickup. Am thinking that with the detonator in the parallel position, this should better match the impedence of the neck pickup and give me more sound options especially when both humbuckers are selected. Will this work? My other option is to install an old Super Distortion I have in the neck but am concerned it will screw up my clean sound. Any comments would be appreciated.....Thanks.......A newbie to this forum

I'm looking for some help with wiring up a Hot-Rails pickup in my strat (1995 stock Tex-Mex if that matters). I have the SHR-1 in the bridge position only - other two pickups are stock. I basically duplicated the wiring of the original pickup (I did attach the red/white wires together) so nothing has changed w/ regard to the switch, etc., - the pickup does work fine like this -- sounds great. The only issue I have is that I would really like to split the coils when using the 2 position on the switch so I can get that strat quot;quackquot; sound -- I can only get that by rolling off volume but it's just not the same. I've seen a bunch of wiring diagrams around but I'm not 100% certain which one I should be following since none of them are explicitly for a hot-rails pickup. So what I'm looking for is:
Switch (I may have the numbers reversed here...):
