I'm looking for some help with wiring up a Hot-Rails pickup in my strat (1995 stock Tex-Mex if that matters). I have the SHR-1 in the bridge position only - other two pickups are stock. I basically duplicated the wiring of the original pickup (I did attach the red/white wires together) so nothing has changed w/ regard to the switch, etc., - the pickup does work fine like this -- sounds great. The only issue I have is that I would really like to split the coils when using the 2 position on the switch so I can get that strat quot;quackquot; sound -- I can only get that by rolling off volume but it's just not the same. I've seen a bunch of wiring diagrams around but I'm not 100% certain which one I should be following since none of them are explicitly for a hot-rails pickup. So what I'm looking for is:
Switch (I may have the numbers reversed here...):
1 - bridge only full humbucker
2 - bridge / middle (bridge split coil)
3 - middle
4 - middle / neck
5 - neck
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks -
