Here’s what I wish to accomplish:
1.Rewire the 5 way selector to toggle the Neck and Bridge pickups in position 1, instead of the single Bridge Pickup.

2.Reverse phase between any two pickups, via mini switch.

3.Possibly switch between Series or Parallel (of any two pickups), via mini switch.
Regarding #3: [laughs] Is this even possible???

Would I be able to accomplish all this with a single mini switch (i.e. On/Off/On or On/On/On)?

Thanks!

1. You can only do this if you get a Super Switch, or perhaps, a Megaswitch. If you didn't mind having the neck on in both the #1 and #2 positions, you could use the standard 5-way. (I'm assuming you're refering to the handle towards the rear as #1.)

2. amp; 3. You can only reverse the phase and/or series/parallel with one pup, with one switch. However, if you selected the middle pup, you could put it in series or reverse phase with the other two. You just wouldn't be able to reverse/series the neck/bridge.

Doing phase reversal or series/parallel requires a DPDT on-on switch.
I'll see what I can doodle on paper to make sure, but I'm pretty sure that's all correct.

Artie

Thanks for the lesson Artie. I appreciate it.

If I understand you correctly, you want position #1 to give you the bridge and neck together? If so, does this mean you do not want to ever use the bridge by itself? If you do want to use the bridge pu by itself, I recommend the Super Switch which you can wire up to have the bridge and neck together in position #3 (replacing what is to me the useless tone of the middle pu by itself).Originally Posted by memofromturner2.Reverse phase between any two pickups, via mini switch.

With a standard 5-way switch, this is not possible without more than one extra switch. Artie is right -- for reversing phase on just one pickup, you need a DPDT so you would need more than one extra switch. I don't know much about the Mega Switch, but it may be possible to wire it so you didn't need an extra switch at all.Originally Posted by memofromturner3.Possibly switch between Series or Parallel (of any two pickups), via mini switch.

Consider also push/pull pots which will save you from having to drill extra holes in your pickguard.Originally Posted by memofromturnerRegarding #3: [laughs] Is this even possible???

With one extra switch, no -- except maybe with the Mega Switch, which I'm not familiar with so take that with a grain of salt.
