I did not know where else to ask this but here goes
i bought a emg for my roadstar guitar
and i need to wire up the one 81 and two single coils in a strat type guitar that has a five way switch
i had heard it is BEST to use the 25K pots for the 81 and use the 250K for the singles?
i dont need any tone pots just two master volumes?
one 25K master VOL for the 81 and one master for the two singles with the 5 way switch? I dont want to spend the extra $30 for a PA-2 from emg
help!
can i just use the stock 500K pot for all the pups the 81 and the two singles?
here is the guitarhmmmmm??? those singles look like actives? are they?
well what you can do if they are not is to use the top control for the 81's master volume(25K) and the bottom control for those two singles(250K or 500K)
the real prob is that with a five way switch when you are in position 4 it will sound awful with a active emg and the middle passive, i mean i really dont have much experience with EMG's my guitars have hondo pups
I think the wiring is easy enough but i have never dont it maybe someone
else here has?

Is that a mini switch after the tone knob? if so you should be able to run the emg through that as a kill switch so your guitar won't sound like crap on the 4 position. if you wire it like a coil tap it should work (when on the ground cancels out the lead therefore cutting off the pup). i've never tried this but it seems like it would work

What f he just doesnt put it to the 4th position?? eh?

You can't use active pickups with passive pickups on the same guitar. They have to be either all active or all passive.
