This is a sound I've loved since I first started listening to Led Zeppelin and Kiss, and I'm not 100% sure how it's achieved.

effects pedal questions
What exactly is the difference in the Boss delay pedals....DD3, DD5, DD6, etc..can anyone explain this please? I have been looking at the DD5, but don't know exactly what is different about each. Also has anyone ever had any experience with a Klon Centaur overdrive pedal? I came across it on e-bay and man these things are high. The last pedal I have a question about is the MXR M-108. Has anyone used one of these and if so what is your opinion. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I Bet These Sound Good
Or at least have the possibility of sounding good with a pickup swap. I bet they got that sweet Strat jangle to them with a little umph. I just happened to see them for the first time today while looking at my new catalog. I'd be willing to bet they sell quite a few of these. If they were about $500 I might jump on one. Maybe I'll sell my FMT Strat and get one.

Gordon Smith Guitars. British handmade guitars....educate me.
I know that Nuntius and Brow know all about these guitars, but they are relatively unknown in the US. Are these really good guitars, or just average?
One trademark I've noticed is brass nuts. I'm curious to hear people's comments on this brand.

Looking for a new Strat...
Hey I'm about to be in the market for a new guitar and since I've played a Strat forever and love them so much I figured I'd get another one. However, I was looking to get one of the Showmaster series, the ones without a pickguard, quilt maple top, '59 and Pearly Gates HBs. I was looking for a hardtail version but I don't think they have those out yet, I've seen a picture of one on there website but I haven't seen them at any of the dealers in my area. If anyone has any experience playing ANY of the Showmaster series from Fender please let me know how they play and how they sound. I played one about two years ago and don't have a good enough memory of it other than it was the sweetest looking strat I've seen in these parts. Anyway, any info. on them would be great.

can someone recommend a good bridge pickup for my strat
Could someone please help me pick a good bridge pickup for my Fender strat. It has room for a double wide pickup. I'm a beginner trying to get a good Angus Young sound. The fretboard is ebony if that matters. I was thinking a TB-4? Would the pots have to be changed too?

Recommend me some good tubes (quick please)
Hey guys,
Some of you know the story, my VHT Ultralead is in desperate aid of new poweramp tubes. Thinking about having the whole thing done (pre and power amp tubes). Right now it has four VHT 12ax7 tubes and one 12au7 in the preamp, and four original VHT KT88s in the poweramp section. What I want is the clean to be the most beautiful (clean) it can, and the rhythm and lead channels quot;high gainquot; to shine with a clear thick sound. I'm sure the preamp tubes are ok, but I want to get the best sound I can out of this amp, and according to Puckboy and GJ the Sovtek 12ax7lps smoke in high gain amps. As for KT88, I have no idea what to order. I've heard about SED and JJ being on top, but I'm not sure yet. Can't really decide on a budget since the difference is just 1 buck a tube

vintage tremelo or floyd rose?
Im thinking about making a strat type guitar and I dont know if I should use a vintage style tremelo bridge or a floyd rose system. I heard that the floyd rose tremelos make the guitar sound thin and are a pain to restring, but they stay in tune. I think the tone of the guitar would be better if I used a vintage style tremelo and I would put in locking tuners so would that stay in tune good to?
